Deck the halls with fabulous cheer as MHFB Swing presents Christmastime is Queer! This vibrant holiday celebration reinvents festive favorites with jazzy twists, sparkling energy, and a radiant spirit of inclusion. With every note, the music celebrates the joy of being your authentic self and the vibrant diversity of our community. From toe-tapping rhythms to heartwarming melodies, this performance transforms the holiday season into an unforgettable celebration of pride, love, and festive brilliance. Together, we rise into a season that shines brighter than ever.

The performance begins at 7:00 PM and runs approximately two hours, including a 20-minute intermission.
We encourage you to arrive early for easy parking and check-in—and to settle into the cozy, twinkling holiday vibe of Historic Grant Avenue before the first note swings.
If you arrive early, you’ll get to enjoy the holiday sounds from the MHFB Low Brass Ensemble before the show in the lobby!
There are two small parking lots on the south side of the building. Street parking is available throughout the surrounding neighborhood near the venue. We recommend arriving early to allow extra time for parking, especially during the busy holiday season.
Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are great options, with convenient drop-off available near the entrance. If you’re being dropped off, please be mindful of traffic flow and pedestrians.
Public transit options are available nearby, though routes and schedules may vary in the winter months. Please plan accordingly and allow extra travel time.
As always, winter weather is unpredictable in Colorado, so we encourage you to check road conditions ahead of time and travel safely.
Doors to Historic Grant Avenue open approximately one hour before the performance. Please enter through the main doors of the building at the corner of Grant & Cedar. Mile High Freedom Bands signage and our fabulous MHFB volunteers will help guide you into the space.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have been to Historic Grant Avenue in the past for an MHFB show, we have changed the entry point for patrons!
Once inside, our volunteers and venue staff will assist with ticket scanning and help direct you to the various amenities so you can settle in and enjoy the holiday magic.
All tickets are issued digitally via email at the time of purchase. You may present your ticket on your mobile device, add it to your mobile wallet, or provide your name at check-in.
If you need to retrieve or exchange a ticket, please contact the MHFB Box Office in advance of the concert. On-site assistance will be available at the check-in table at the doors beginning one hour before the show.
If you purchased a Flex Pass, be sure to redeem it for admission tickets to this event.
For the comfort and safety of all guests, standard security policies are in effect in the venue. All patrons and bags are subject to screening upon entry.
Small personal bags (no larger than 12″ × 12″ × 12″) are welcome and must fit beneath your seat. Empty or factory-sealed water bottles (plastic or aluminum) are permitted. Outside food, beverages, professional cameras, recording devices, weapons, and other restricted items are not allowed inside the venue.
We recommend traveling light to help keep the check-in process quick and easy. MHFB volunteers and venue staff will be on hand to assist and answer questions as you arrive.
For a complete list of permitted and prohibited items, please visit the Denver Arts and Venues policy page before attending as we align our security guidelines with theirs.
Please silence all devices before the performance begins, and refrain from using phones or recording devices during the music. Flash photography is strictly prohibited.
You’re welcome to take photos in the lobby before the concert, during intermission, and after the show to capture memories with friends – just be mindful of other guests and the performers’ space.
We invite you to relax and be fully present with the music. Applaud generously, react authentically, and let your energy join the shared experience of live performance. Together, we create the beauty of the moment.
At intermission and after the show, visit the lobby for your photo with Santa!
The performance space at Historic Grant Avenue is accessible for guests with mobility, hearing, or visual needs. Wheelchair and companion seating is available.
To access the lobby, concessions, and restrooms there are three stairs.
If you or a guest require specific accommodations, please contact MHFB in advance so we can ensure the best possible experience. Service animals are welcome in accordance with ADA guidelines.
There are some dedicated parking spaces to the west of the building and at the end of the parking lot. We recommend arriving early to allow extra time for parking and navigation through the building.
At MHFB, we believe music should be accessible to everyone – please let us know how we can best support you in enjoying the performance.
